People of color who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming experience unique struggles due to the intersection of gendered bias and structural and interpersonal racism. This marginalized population often has increased psychosocial, medical, and mental health concerns, and will present complex scenarios for providers to navigate. In order to provide responsive care, service providers must recognize the ways in which the intersectionality of gender identity and culture affects this population. Utilizing the

I will discuss the idea of intersectionality and the importance of using a gender-affirming and culturally competent lens.
